AR Series Front Loading Food Steamers
The demand for an under the counter food steamer has increased, and we responded with the AR Series. This model offers a front drawer opening and self-contained water supply, making it completely portable and allowing it to fit under most counters or shelves, increasing your workspace. The closed generator is designed to increase your productivity by cutting down your cooking time. AR Series steamers require the use of distilled or demineralized water.
Expert Tip: The AR Series steamers are portable, stackable models, with self-contained distilled or demineralized water reservoirs. Because they are portable, many healthcare facilities place them in various locations to assist with meal delivery.
FAQ
Q: Why isn’t my steamer creating enough steam?
A: There are a few possible reasons causing this. The generator can become clogged over time if TAP WATER is used in this model — use distilled water only.
- The small cone water filter is clogged.
Watch video on how to change the cone filter on the AR Series Steamer.
- The water drawer is empty or not filled enough.

- The generator is flooded. Make sure water isn’t pumped more than four times per minute.
You can tell the generator has been flooded if you see a constant light steam coming from the front baffle of the unit. If the unit seems flooded, let the water boil off before resuming your cooking cycle.
Q: How do I clean my AR series Steamer?
A: It’s mainly necessary to clean the food pan and the water drawer on these steamers since everything else is enclosed. We recommend you do this daily. The chassis can be wiped down as necessary.
Q: Why must I use distilled water in the AR series steamers?
A: Use of anything other than distilled water will allow deposits to build up in the steam generator causing a reduced steam volume and the eventual stoppage of steam production. Clogged or limed steam generators caused by use of non-distilled water will not be covered under the terms of the warranty.
Q: What is the temperature of the steamers?
A: Generator reaches 350 degrees; steam reaches 240 degrees.
